Been making some minor changes to the current wordpress theme- Twenty Seventeen. Learned more about creating child themes, adding stuff to the php files (mainly the functions.php), and modifying the theme’s CSS files.
One of the benefits I’m getting to enjoy while on a night rotation is being up on through the early morning hours. Didn’t quite like how it was dominating the entire sidebar so went head and added a bit of custom CSS the the widget element to help make it a bit more manageable.
Was wanting to check and see how to best showcase photos from my other site Shutter Dragon Photos and what better way than just posting some of those pics in this post?
Got a short and sweet edit to get the pesky featured images from dominating the page’s top portion. Edit the CSS styling that calls out “single-featured-image-header”

In general I’m finding that I don’t want to add plugins when possible to wordpress so when it came to setting up a simple twitter feed to the sidebar I looked around to see if its easily doable.
